Senator Steve Daines received a letter that his data has been hacked while he was home in Montana this weekend. In an interview with Fox News, he reiterated his belief that staff members of the Office of Personal Management should be let go.

"We need to hold the government accountable to standards we hold people in the private sector accountable to," Daines said. "The Director should be let go, I think the CIO as well at the OPM ought to be fired. This is unacceptable. It has put up to 18 million Americans, federal employees at risk."

According to Daines, as of June 4th, the OPM claimed to expose 4.2 million records of government employees. However, he says that the FBI has calculated more along 18 million records exposed.

"I am more concerned right now about the men and women serving our country whether it's in the military or in the intelligence because it's very likely their data has been hacked," Daines said. "It looks to be Chinese hackers that got this information. We have men and women involved across the globe in intelligence and counter intelligence. Their data may have been hacked."

Daines explicitly calls for the resignation of OPM Director Katherine Archuleta.
