The senate has approved a resolution urging the federal government to remove the grey wolf from the endangered species list. Senator joe balyeat (bael-ee-et) of bozeman says national lawmakers put language into a budget resolution that would have resulted in the delisting. But, he says that language was removed a few days ago.

The resolution passed its second-reading on a vote of 43 to six. Lawmakers are considering several other bills that deal with managing wolves.

One measure aims to make the endangered species act null and void in Montana by punishing any person or agency that tries to comply with it.
