A City of Missoula project to refurbish Spruce Street starting Monday and continuing  through Thursday will mean a new, smooth surface for the high-traffic-volume street.

Street Department crews are asking for the patience and help of the driving public. Some restrictions will mean delays for those living and commuting in the area.

No on-street parking will be allowed between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. during the project on Spruce Street between Woody Street and Scott Street. “No Parking” barricades will be posted on the curbs early Monday morning. Temporary detours and intermittent delays will be necessary. One lane will be open with flaggers directing traffic. Drivers who can avoid the area should do so.

The surface of Spruce Street will be milled and paved.

The street experiences heavy traffic and has not been paved since 2000.
