A Facebook tip has led to the arrest of a robbery suspect by Missoula police.

Public Information Officer Travis Welsh said the public really came through with a tip that led to the successful arrest.

"Wednesday afternoon we had information that identified our suspect from the incident that happened just the day before," Welsh said. "That information not only identified him, but also gave us an idea of where this person was going to be at a specific time yesterday afternoon, and so, when the time came, we responded to an area in the 3000 block of Great Northern Way. We saw the suspect that matched the description, and he was in the vehicle that was depicted in the surveillance video, and he was taken into custody without incident."

Welsh also provided the suspect's identity.

"He has been identified as 25 year-old Chad Moore," he said. "Moore is currently in the Missoula County Jail charged with felony theft."
