Social Bills Get Attention At The State Legislature
The State House is dealing with another round of social bills. Representatives are split over a plan to repeal an antiquated anti-gay law that treats homosexual sex as a felony. In the meantime, endorsing two anti-abortion bills. Republicans running the chamber largely got their way on both issues. Several republicans split from their caucus, in trying to repeal a law that declares gay sex illegal. The law remains, even though the courts declared it unconstitutional in the 1990s.
