In the last few days, two Republican Gubernatorial candidates have made headlines for taking a pledge. Corey Stapleton and Neil Livingstone both agreed to sign on to a constitutional pledge called the Candidate Pledge of Fidelity created by a group known as the Montana Alliance for Constitutionalism. The Alliance has a list of goals that includes features such as Limited Government, State Sovereignty, Economic Freedom, Educational Excellence, and Stewardship of Natural Resources. One of the most interesting features of the pledge is that it requires its signers to resign if they fail to uphold it. An author of the pledge and member of the Montana Alliance for Constitutionalism, Dennis W. Hicks explains the pledges purpose.

Neil Livingstone's also took the time to explain why he signed the pledge.

So what do you think, is the pledge worthwhile or not?
