Montana is experiencing a mild winter with warmer temperatures and less than average snowpack. The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service says mountain snowpack is below average and below last year. NRCS Water Supply Specialist Brian Domonkos says the Missoula area is slightly higher for overall precipitation, but down on snowpack.

Domonkos says the state percentage for snowpack is down and also points out that it is still possible to reach our average snowpack before winter is over.
