A weekend storm in the Northeast has dumped a foot or more of snow in parts of the region, drawing cheers from ski area operators and snow removal workers.

Mount Sunapee ski area in Newbury, N.H., got a fresh 13 inches of snow and a big skier turnout Sunday morning. The ski area's marketing director, Bruce McCloy, says cars were filling the parking lot in the morning.

Angel DeJesus was clearing snow at apartment complexes in the south end of Hartford, Conn., on Sunday. He says the storm wasn't anything unusual for New England in December, but he was glad for the overtime pay.

Car accidents were reported across the region, and airports were trying to get back to normal after hundreds of flight cancellations.
