The Missoula County Sheriff's Office is investigating two felonies that occurred early Wednesday morning, a theft of tools and equipment from a parked truck, and a man arrested for his seventh DUI.

Public Information Officer Paige Pavalone said the first incident occurred on Railroad Street, in downtown, Missoula.

"A truck was parked in an automotive shop's outdoor lot, and overnight, unknown suspects entered the lot, cut a strap and removed several expensive items from the bed of the truck," Pavalone said. "The stole a vary expensive toolbox, jumper cables and logging equipment that were vital to the owner's livelihood. Anyone with information is asked to call Missoula Crimestoppers at 721-44-44."

A second incident involved what began as a standard DUI arrest, but ended with a felony charge.

"We had a deputy patrolling in the East Missoula to Potomac area and he observed a vehicle going faster than the posted 75 miles per hour limit," she said. "The deputy pulled the vehicle over and the driver presented a valid driver's license, but no proof of insurance. The deputy noted a strong odor of alcohol and began a DUI investigation. The driver provided a breath sample of more than three times the legal limit for alcohol, or a ,270 percent. After running a history on the driver, it was determined that this was his seventh DUI arrest, which is a felony."

The driver was booked into the Missoula County Jail for felony DUI.
