A 67-year-old convicted sex offender who was arrested at a children's Easter egg hunt in East Missoula after one of his victims recognized him there has been sentenced to 25 years in prison with 20 years suspended.

District Judge John Larson sentenced William Harvey Suthers on Tuesday for violating the conditions of his probation.

Suthers was convicted of two counts of sexual assault after a girl told police he assaulted her while he was babysitting her and her brother in 1992. She was 10 at the time.

He was given a suspended sentence in 1998 and was forbidden from having contact with anyone under the age of 18 except his sons.

Suthers was arrested April 27 and was ordered to wear a GPS device and to stay away from places where he'd likely encounter the victim.
