The Missoula High School Board of Trustees met for an expulsion hearing Tuesday to consider the case of a Sentinel High School senior that left an unloaded rifle locked in his vehicle on the school campus. The rifle was discovered during a routine search of vehicles on ‘senior skip day’ last week.

Toni Rehbein, chair of the Board of Trustees says expulsion was required by board policy. The board chose the period of expulsion to allow the student to graduate from Sentinel with his classmates this weekend, and there will be no mention of the violation on his official high school transcripts.
