Senator Jon Tester has directed his staff to attend each of the State of Montana’s upcoming Public Assistance Briefings for communities affected by recent flooding. Tester is also encouraging local community leaders and representatives to attend the briefings for information about assistance for damage to public infrastructure.

 Representatives from the State of Montana’s Disaster and Emergency Services Division, along with FEMA, will use the six briefings to outline steps to apply for Public Assistance funding.  The money can be used to address flood damage to public infrastructure like roads.

 Public Assistance—separate from Individual Assistance—is available to Montana city and county governments, tribal governments, stage agencies, and private non-profit organizations (such as rural electric co-ops and irrigation districts) that qualify for damage assistance.

 Tester’s staff will attend each meeting in its entirety and will be on hand to help answer questions. Below is a list of the meetings:
