Senator John Walsh Files Final Fundraising Report

Democratic U.S. Sen. John Walsh has filed a final fundraising report after ending his campaign in August.

Lee Newspapers of Montana reports Walsh raised $3 million during his campaign and had $119,000 left at the end of September.

Walsh withdrew from the race after The New York Times reported he plagiarized a paper he wrote at The U.S. Army War College. The college revoked his master's degree earlier this month.

Walsh reported raising $2 million from individuals and $683,000 from political action committees. The remainder came from joint fundraising committees, which include donations from individuals and PACs.

After Walsh withdrew, his campaign donated to other Democratic U.S. Senate and House candidates, the Montana Democratic Party, the Democratic Party's Senate Majority PAC and to the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
