Today Representative Steve Daines applauded the Senate for the passage of legislation containing a number of provisions that represent Montana defense, land and resources priorities.

The National Defense Authorization Act includes eight Montana-based lands and resources bills announced last week by Daines and Senator Jon Tester as well as Senator John Walsh.

After passing in the House last week by a vote of 300 to 119, the Senate approval clears the way for the President to sign the act into law.

"The Senate passage of the National Defense Authorization Act is good news for Montana," Daines said. "It secures our state's role in maintaining a strong national defense, protects some of our greatest treasures, promotes responsible development of Montana's energy resources and expands access to our public lands for generations to come."
