Now that the decision to place the new Missoula College at the East Broadway location has been made, the first meeting to plan the new facility will be on Thursday, November 14 at the Holiday Inn-Missoula Downtown.

Associate Director of Planning and Construction for the University of Montana Kevin Krebsbach said the scoping open house will be an opportunity to see displays of the site and make public comment.

"Our scoping meeting for the EA (environmental assessment) is Thursday, and it's the first step in the process," Krebsbach said. "Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. will basically be an open house to show the public some of the site issues."

There will be a presentation by the architects, Studio Forma out of Bozeman, at 6 p.m. during the open house.

"Basically, we're trying to get information from the public to see what kind of issues should be addressed in the environmental assessment, and that's what this scoping session is all about," Krebsbach said.

Other issues to be discussed will include traffic and parking in the area.
