The Morrell complex fire burning near Seeley Lake is less than 500 acres but Fire Information Officer Catherine Kuhle says firefighters are concerned the town of Seeley Lake might be threatened.

"So the fire started on August 14 after a wave of lightning strikes in the area occurred, and that broadened pretty quick and now there was a concern of the town of Seeley Lake which is just 7 miles south of the point of position," Kuhle said.

Fears that winds which have been blowing the fire toward the Bob Marshal might begin to head toward Seeley Lake prompted a Red Flag warning.

"Currently, we are under a red flag warning which is causing some concerns," Kuhle said. "We pulled some of our resources on the northern end of the fire today due to those conditions. we are keeping crews on the southern end."

There are currently no evacuations in place.
