March is Red Cross Month.  In 1943, President Franklin D. Roosevelt proclaimed the first Red Cross Month in support of fundraising efforts to meet emergency needs during World War II.  Since that time, every president has designated March as Red Cross Month.

Red Cross Blood Services collects and distributes more than 40 percent of this country's blood supply.  In today's program, Senior Donor Recruitment Representative Julie Brehm talks about the blood donor program.  You can find out more about the program from the American Red Cross.
