The Ravalli County government is running out of office space. A church next door to the Administration Center may be the solution. Thursday, Pastor Steve Clark of the Big Sky Baptist Church at the corner of State and South 4th told commissioners that his congregation is interested in a larger building with more parking. The current church was built in 1937. Clark had approached the commission earlier about a possible sale.

At the January 24 meeting, Commissioners Jeff Burrows and Chris Hoffman said that they will need a current appraisal of the building before the county can proceed with negotiations. Commissioner Greg Chilcott is out of town, so another meeting was scheduled for February 6th. Burrows told KLYQ Thursday that the Administration Center is getting “near capacity” and there were many possibilities as to how the church building could be used.
