University of Montana officials sent out a campus wide alert on Tuesday morning about a rape that was reported on campus.

Vice President for Integrated Communications Peggy Kuhr said a man reported that a woman approached him while he was in the vehicle in the Schreiber Gym parking lot, and told him she had been raped. The woman ran off before help could arrive, and she has not been located.

University of Montana Police and the Missoula Police Department have been on campus all morning investigating the incident. The woman has not yet come forward to share her story with authorities.

Kuhr said an email was sent to all students notifying them of the report.
