HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Tuesday's primary election is topped by hot battles for governor, attorney general and Congress that will establish highly anticipated general election matchups.

Former Republican congressman Rick Hill is fending off state Sens. Corey Stapleton, Ken Miller and others as he seeks the party's nomination for governor. Miller wrapped up the campaign Monday again defending accusations that he improperly raised money.

The winner likely faces Attorney General Steve Bullock, who is coasting to the nomination.

Democrats Kim Gillan, Franke Wilmer and Diane Smith headline a group seeking that party's nomination for Congress. Bozeman businessman Steve Daines heads the Republican side.

Democrats Jesse Laslovich and Pam Bucy will wrap a tight primary for attorney general, as will Republicans Tim Fox and Jim Shockley.
