Preseason Payton Award List Released

Big Sky Conference officials say Montana State quarterback DeNarius McGhee is one of 20 players on the 2011 Walter Payton Award watch list.The watch list was released Monday and includes 11 quarterbacks, seven running backs and two wide receivers.

The award goes to the top offensive player in the Football Championship Subdivision. The winner will be announced before the championship game in January.

McGhee threw for 3,163 yards, 23 touchdowns and six interceptions last season for the Bobcats. He will be a sophomore this year.
