Chainsaws were roaring Saturday for the traditional pole run, as University of Montana students began preparations for the 96th annual Foresters' Ball, scheduled for March 22 and March 23 in 2013.

Big changes were introduced for the upcoming ball, after last year, when several students arrived at the ball drunk, causing a disturbance. University of Montana President Royce Engstrom initially ordered everyone arriving at the 2013 ball to submit to a Breathalyzer test, however students presented a compelling argument against the president's plan.

Engstrom says the students have added several 'family-friendly' components to the ball, including a career day display, and moving the dance to earlier in the evening, with entry restricted before 9 p. m.

Engstrom says there will be added security at the dance, to ensure that no one is allowed entry while under the influence of alcohol.
