KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) — A 26-year-old registered sex offender from Polson who authorities say failed to register his new address and took a job working with children at the Northwest Ballet School & Company in Kalispell is being held on $45,000 bail.

The Daily Inter Lake reports Sunday that Donald Stanfield pleaded not guilty to failing to register as a sex offender.

Stanfield in 2008 was given a six-year deferred sentence after pleading guilty to one of two felony charges of sexual intercourse without consent.

Authorities say he raped or molested a girl starting when she was 7 or 8 until she was 16, and another girl when she was 11. Stanfield was between 12 and 21 years old.

Court documents say Stanfield didn't tell his probation officer he was staying in Kalispell.
