BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Authorities have identified a Colorado man who police say died of self-inflicted wounds after the federal Violent Offender Task Force and Yellowstone County Sheriff's deputies attempted to serve a warrant at a motel in the south-central Montana town of Ballantine.

Police say they entered 29-year-old Brenton David Glaser's motel room on Friday but he locked himself in the bathroom. Police say they forced open the door but found the Evans, Colo., man had cut his neck and caused severe bleeding.

Police tell the Billings Gazette that after Glaser injured himself he still resisted officers, who used stun gun to subdue him. No law enforcement personnel were injured.

Authorities say Glaser was wanted for contempt of court in Weld County, Colo.

A warrant lists Glaser's original charge as sexual assault.
