Dozens of law enforcement vehicles paraded down Hamilton's Main Street Thursday May 15 as part of the state's Peace Officers' Memorial Day commemoration.

The Hamilton Police Department hosted the annual event as part of "Police Week." The day was authorized by the U.S. Congress in 1962 to salute the men and women in law enforcement who serve their communities and those who have fallen in the line of duty.

The parade included dozens of cars, SUVs and trucks from throughout Montana including Missoula, Kalispell, Silver Bow, Bozeman, Helena, Lewis & Clark County, Yellowstone, Hamilton, Ravalli County, Missoula County, Rocky Mountain Laboratories, University of Montana and the Montana Highway Patrol.

Following the parade, a ceremony was held at Hamilton High School to honor the law enforcement profession.
