BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — One man is dead and another is injured after a small plane crashed near the eastern Montana town of Brockton. The Billings Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/yEewCm ) the wreck happened shortly before 4 p.m. Monday in Richland County. Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Mike Fergus says the two men were flying a Bellanca fixed-wing, single-engine plane.

The aircraft was registered to James Steppler of Brockton. But Fergus notes that doesn't necessarily mean Steppler was aboard the plane.

No additional details were available.
