Pertussis Case Confirmed At Sentinel High School [AUDIO]
The Missoula County Health Department has confirmed one case of pertussis, also known as whooping cough, at Sentinel High School. I spoke with Public Affairs Director Leslie Brasfield about the announcement on Thursday afternoon. That interview is below.
I then spoke to Missoula County Health Department Infectious Disease nurse Cindy Hotchkiss about what parents can do to keep their children from contracting the disease. That interview is below.
Hotchkiss says if left untreated, whooping cough could persist for up to three months.
