Anaconda Police Officer Denies DUI Charge

 
A 27-year-old Anaconda police officer accused of driving drunk and hitting a parked vehicle last month has pleaded not guilty.
Tyler Deeks appeared in Justice Court on Monday and denied misdemeanor charges of DUI first offense and failure to report an accident by the quickest means. His trial has been scheduled for Feb. 16.

Slate Of New State Laws Going Into Place

The new law authorizing a crackdown on repeat drunk drivers is among a slate of new laws that went into effect Saturday.

More than 150 of the laws that the Legislature passed earlier this year went into effect on Oct. 1. Most are considered relatively small adjustments to current law.
