Montana Pharmacists Can Give Flu Shots To Kids

Pharmacists in Montana will be able to give flu vaccinations to children age 12 and older under a new law effective Saturday.

Prior law allowed pharmacists to give flu shots only to people 18 years old or older. Senator Jim Keane, a Butte Democrat, sponsored the change that was approved by the Legislature last session by a wide margin.

MSSA Cleared In Lobbying Complaint, NRA Fined

The state has cleared a well-known Missoula gun-rights advocate in a charge he failed to register as a lobbyist, but fined the National Rifle Association for making that mistake in 2009.

Political Practices Commissioner Dave Gallik says that Gary Marbut and Montana Shooting Sports Association don't have to register as a lobbyist because Marbut is not paid to do the work and does it on his own time.

Judge Blocks Parts Of Montana Medical Marijuana Law

A judge has temporarily blocked Montana from enforcing a new law ending commercial medical marijuana operations.

Helena District Judge James Reynolds issued a preliminary injunction Thursday to block portions of a restrictive overhaul of state law. Part of that law would have prevented marijuana providers from making a profit or distributing pot to more than three registered users.
