Anaconda Police Officer Denies DUI Charge

 
A 27-year-old Anaconda police officer accused of driving drunk and hitting a parked vehicle last month has pleaded not guilty.
Tyler Deeks appeared in Justice Court on Monday and denied misdemeanor charges of DUI first offense and failure to report an accident by the quickest means. His trial has been scheduled for Feb. 16.

Slate Of New State Laws Going Into Place

The new law authorizing a crackdown on repeat drunk drivers is among a slate of new laws that went into effect Saturday.

More than 150 of the laws that the Legislature passed earlier this year went into effect on Oct. 1. Most are considered relatively small adjustments to current law.

Police On The Lookout For Drunk Drivers

The Missoula Police Department, along with the Montana Highway Patrol will conduct a DUI Saturation Patrol on Friday, September 30th, 2011 in an effort to combat impaired driving. The patrols will begin in the early evening hours and run until Saturday morning with special emphasis on bars and nightclubs in the Missoula area.

Woman Charged After Crash, Near Miss On U.S. 93

A 35-year-old woman has been charged after allegedly running one vehicle off the road and crashing into another on U.S. Highway 93 southwest of Missoula.

Kristina Diane Walters remained jailed Wednesday on a DUI charge and three counts of felony criminal endangerment.

Her bail was set at $50,000.

DUI Task Force Round-Table On Safe Rides Home [AUDIO]

The Missoula DUI Task force hosted an historic round table discussion Friday afternoon at the Missoula City Council Chambers. Several agencies, businesses and transportation providers met before members of Law Enforcement, media and the public to discuss ideas for getting people home safely after drinking too much..especially in the late night hours. Representatives from Yellow Cab, The Mountain Line, ASUM Transportation Services, and a non-profit ride-home business called U-CALL-US shared their ideas. Research firm Six Pony Hitch representative Spider McKnight shared results of a study recently conducted for the DUI Task Force. That part of the discussion is attached.

Witness In Las Vegas Murder Trial Gets 6th DUI

One of the key witnesses in a 2000 high-profile murder trial in Las Vegas faces his sixth drunken driving charge.

Steven Kurt Gratzer appeared in Justice Court Monday on a felony DUI charge. Court records say he was arrested Sunday after a Missoula police officer saw him swerving into oncoming traffic, overcorrect and nearly hit the curb.

Nate Montana Pleads Guilty To Reckless Driving

Joe Montana's son has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of reckless driving stemming from a traffic stop in which he declined a breathalyzer test.

Nate Montana was pulled over for going 39 mph in a 25 mph zone in Missoula early June 3. The 21-year-old University of Montana quarterback was arrested on a first-offense DUI charge after a sheriff's deputy said he smelled alcohol and that Montana fumbled with his driver's license.

Bicyclist Injured In Hit And Run In Downtown Missoula

24 year old Florence residentSharlyssa Duncan was arrested after allegedly striking a 26 year old female bicyclist just before three this morning at the intersection of Owen and West Spruce and leaving the scene. Missoula Police Corporal Bob Campbell say the bicyclist suffered a possible broken leg and was transported to St. Patrick Hospital.
