The City of Missoula has debated over what to do with the Old Sawmill District for a long time, and now one Montana business is trying to stake its claim. "We've been working on this steadily for the past two years," Lolo Peak Brewing Company Owner Patrick Offen said. "We have the land under contract, the liquor license, the plans are ready to submit to the city, and we're moving full boar on it. It'll be an 8 to 10 month project depending on when we start."

If approved, the new location will be called “Lolo Peak at the Sawmill.” Offen says he wants to maintain a connection to the past.

"We're going to try to keep some of the antiques, some of the old fixtures similar to what's going on down there," Offen said. "We have a lot of unique saws, chainsaws, saw blades, and a lot of fun stuff we can use down there."

Offen hopes to start construction in the fall.
