Oklahoma State, which dealt with the tragic deaths of 10 people in a 2001 plane crash, including some men’s basketball players, is reeling from another crash that took the lives of women’s basketball coach Kurt Budke and an assistant coach, Miranda Serna.

It happened Thursday during a recruiting trip to Arkansas and also claimed claimed the lives of the pilot and one other passenger on board the small plane.

Both of the the team’s scheduled weekend games have been canceled in the wake of the tragedy. In a statement, university president Burns Hargis said, “Kurt was an exemplary leader and a man of character who had a profound impact on his student-athletes. He was an outstanding coach and a wonderful person.”

Budke had a record of 112-83 in seven seasons at the school. Prior to that, he coached at Louisiana Tech coach, totaling an 80-16 record.
