Governor Brian Schweitzer’s oil pipeline safety council will hold its first meeting this Wednesday at the Department of Environmental Quality, Helena headquarters.  The council is made up of the directors from the Montana department of environmental quality, Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, and the Department of Transportation. Governor Schweitzer explains what he hopes the team will accomplish in the meeting.

Governor Schweitzer established the council by executive order on July 20th, following the July 1st rupture of the Exxon Mobil oil pipeline, that sent over 1,000 barrels of crude oil into the Yellowstone River.
