President Barack Obama says the relationship between the U.S. government and tribal nations is stronger today than ever. But he says there's much more to do to help Native Americans.

Obama attended a powwow on a Native American reservation in North Dakota. It's his first visit to Indian Country as president.

Obama is promoting the need to help reservations create jobs, strengthen justice, and improve health and education.

He says young people should be able to live, work and raise a family on the land of their fathers and mothers.
