During Thursday's forum interview with Spanish language television network Univision, Obama was asked express what he saw as his biggest failure. After getting a laugh from the crowd for responding "comprehensive immigration reform," Obama claimed that

“the most important lesson I’ve learned is that you can’t change Washington from the inside.”

Responding on the campaign trail,  Mitt Romney seized Obama's words, claiming that the president had thrown up the white flag of surrender.

"He said he can’t change Washington from the inside. He can only change it from outside. Well, we’re going to give him that chance in November. He's going outside,"

Romney went on, claiming that he could do what the president failed to do by bringing Republicans and Democrats together. "He can’t do it" jabbed Romney. "His slogan was ‘yes we can.’ His slogan now is no I can't."
