No Clues Found in Search For Colorado Man Missing in Helena National Forest

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Lewis and Clark County officials in western Montana are looking for a missing Colorado man but say the search will likely end after Sunday if no clues are found.

Sheriff Leo Dutton tells the Independent Record that no sign of 52-year-old Dale Brownlow was found Saturday.

The wildlife biologist from Denver has been missing for about two weeks.

His vehicle has been parked since at least Dec. 1 at a trailhead in the Hunter's Gulch area leading into the Helena National Forest.

Dutton says the search didn't start until Thursday because Brownlow is known to spend extended periods of time camping in the wilderness.

Dutton says Brownlow arrived before heavy snows came to the area.

Three helicopters and eight dog teams took part in the search Saturday.
