Montana’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 7.4% in February. The U.S. unemployment rate was 8.9 %.  Montana Department of Labor and Industry's Communications Director, Casey Kyler-West says the number of Montanans who worked in February, caused  a slight decrease in the unemployment rate.

Kyler-west says the seasonally adjusted total non-farm payroll employment decreased by 2,500 over the month of February, with losses primarily in the government sector.  However, non-farm private payroll employment remains above the December level and has generally been trending upward throughout the past year.
