Scott Gurnsey and I finally got to meet and talk to Montana's new head softball coach, who is not new to the program.

Melanie Meuchel, whose Missoula and Montana Grizzly roots run deep, was promoted from assistant to head coach of Griz softball, replacing Jamie Pinkerton, who left last fall to take the the head job at Iowa State.

Coach Pinkerton started the new Grizzly program four years ago, and Coach Meuchel was right there with him. Melanie talks about why this job is a dream come true, the path that led her to the position, her style of recruiting and coaching and what we can expect from the 2018 edition of Grizzly softball.  She is a terrific interview and we hope you Griz softball fans will give it a listen!
