[/captionGREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) — Prosecutors in Cascade County have filed new charges against a former Great Falls High student charged with assaulting fellow football players in the locker room.

The Great Falls Tribune reports the three counts of misdemeanor criminal assault were filed last week. District Judge Dick Sandefur dismissed a rape charge and two counts of sexual assault against 18-year-old Alex Botina-Roehm.

Sandefur ruled April 5 that those charges were excessive. However, he added that the assaults were "patently offensive" and deserved to be prosecuted.

Prosecutors alleged Botina-Roehm came up behind two boys in the shower, placed one arm between their legs and picked them up.
