HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Helena High setter Kyndal Williams has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Montana State-Billings.

Williams tells the Independent Record she chose the volleyball scholarship over an offer to be a preferred walk-on for the Montana State women's basketball team.

Williams is a three-time first-team all-state player and was the 2011 Gatorade volleyball player of the year for Montana. She helped Helena to its first Class AA state title in 2010 and to another crown in 2011. She set Helena High records for match, season and career assists and aces and match digs.

At MSU Billings, Williams will again team up with middle blocker Monica Grimsrud, who also was on Helena High's 2010 state title team.
