BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Montana State Billings men's basketball coach Jamie Stevens has announced the signing of point guard Kalob Hatcher of San Diego.

Hatcher transfers to MSU Billings after two seasons at Irvine Valley College, where he averaged 9.8 points per game. He tallied 237 assists and 79 steals in two seasons.

Hatcher ended his high school career at Foothills Christian with 2,129 points, 1,209 assists and 249 3-pointers. His assists mark broke the California record set by 10-time NBA all-star and current Dallas Mavericks point guard Jason Kidd.

Stevens says Hatcher comes from winning programs in both high school and college and is the type of player who can influence a game without necessarily scoring.

He says he's pleased to get Hatcher this late in the recruiting process.
