A Montana State University basketball player has denied disorderly conduct charges stemming from an apparent bar fight that caused him season-ending injuries.

KTVM-TV reports Xavier Blount, who has since turned 21, also pleaded not guilty Thursday to a charge of being a minor in possession of alcohol.

Early on Feb. 12, police found Blount unconscious after an apparent fight with at least one other MSU athlete. He suffered a shoulder injury that will require surgery, but school officials say he's back in classes.

Former MSU football player Roger Trammel earlier pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor assault.
