Mountain Lion That Stalked Girl and Attacked Dog is Dead

Investigators believe that the mountain lion that reportedly stalked a four-year-old girl at the Harper’s Lake Campground last week was recently discovered outside a home near the river watch trail north of the lake.
The lion attacked a family dog and Fish, Wildlife and Parks was called in to deal with the cat. FWP spokeswoman Vivica Crowser says that the lion was treed by a dog owned by wildlife specialist Bob Wiesner who has been tracking the lion for over a week with his dog Spinner.

Wiesner and FWP Biologist Jay Kolbe managed to kill the lion. The dog that was attacked by the mountain lion was still alive and was taken to a vet in Missoula, but Crowser had not heard back about the dog’s condition as of this morning.
