Campers at Harper's Lake near Greenough spotted a mountain lion Monday evening that refused to leave the area. Several children were playing nearby, and the cat did not run from adults that joined the children. Wildlife specialist with Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks Mike Thompson says the lion may have become habituated to humans by eating dog food or garbage from the nearby campsites.

Thompson says a wildlife specialist will be camping in the area through the weekend to see if the lion shows up again, and determine if it should be trapped and moved away from the Harper's Lake area.
