Baked Ziti is a classic mid-week dish when everyone is at their busiest and they need a hearty, quick meal. Missoula Fresh Market and Radd Cooking brings you a kicked-up baked ziti with the La Rossa from Moretti and Broccoli di Rapa sausage from Bugoni's. Using the good cheese and sauce, the dish brings baked ziti from the mundane to the sublime.

Hardware

• 4 links Bugoni's Broccoli di Rapa Sausage (or any Italian sausage)
• 12 oz. Moretti La Rossa Birra
• ½ jar Dave's Gourmet Spicy Heirloom Marinara (or make your own tomato sauce)
• 8 oz. fresh mozzarella, sliced
• 4 oz. parmesan reggiano, grated
• 8 oz. ziti (penne can substitute)
• 1 medium onion, chopped
• 1 orange bell pepper, sliced
• 1 red bell pepper, sliced
• 2 portobellos, sliced
• 2 garlic cloves, chopped
• 1 TBSP dried basil
• Olive oil

Directions

1. Heat a touch of olive oil in a large pan
2. Add the sausage links and brown them, flipping once
3. Add onion halfway through the sausage cooking
4. Add the Moretti La Rossa Birra and bell peppers
5. Remove the sausages after the liquid has reduced by half and slice them
6. Add portobellos and marinara sauce
7. Heat a large pot of water (2 quarts of water) to a strong boil
8. Add a tablespoon of salt
9. Add the pasta and cook at a rolling boil, uncovered, until the pasta is just al dente
10. Drain the pasta through a colander
11. Toss in the marinara and vegetable sauce
12. Preheat the oven to 350°F
13. Layer sliced sausage, sauce and pasta mixture, and cheeses in casserole dish
14. Bake 20 minutes or until the top is lightly browned and the cheese melted
15. Serve up and enjoy
