The National Weather Service is predicting that another round of snow is headed for northwest Montana. Meteorologist Travis Booth says Troy, Libby, and Eureka will likely see another 4 to 6 inches Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

“It does look like there will be a transition over to some pockets of freezing rain on Thursday morning and then over to rain thereafter,” said Booth. “The real concern is all that additional snow, with also some rain mixing in, just perhaps worsening or leading to additional snow loading issues.”

According to Booth, Missoula will receive some moisture as well.

“We are going to likely see just a few inches of snow, probably just 2 to 3 inches of snow on Wednesday night into early Thursday,” Booth said. “We will see a similar transition to perhaps some light freezing rain briefly and then over to rain for the day on Thursday.”

Booth says with all this extra moisture and potential warm weather, there will likely be some additional ponding of water issues.
