It was announced today, October 17, that the graduation rate across the country is the highest it has ever been. Montana Superintendent of Public Instruction Denise Juneau says a lot of the reason for the growth in graduation rates has been because of the program Graduation Matters Montana.

“Over the past six years, we now 58 communities across the state engaged in Graduation Matters Montana,” said Juneau. “There are 450 small businesses sitting at the tabled as well as nonprofit organizations, parents and students. Everybody is working toward a common challenge that we face of making sure that we have more students than ever graduate from high school.”

According to Juneau, Montana has had a record high graduation rate of 86 percent two years in a row and that is nearly three percentage points above the national average.
