Montana’s Gas Prices Stuck, Getting Close to National Average

Fourth of July gas prices in Montana were higher this year than any of the past six years says petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan, and the price appears to be stuck.

“It’s been a pretty quiet week across Montana as July 4 has come and now gone,” DeHaan said. “Gas prices have inched ever slightly downward, dropping just a tenth of a penny, down to about 3.61, creatively unchanged over the past week.

The prognosis for this week is more of the same.

“I do expect that, whether it be this week or next week, Montana’s average price may gently decline. The national average will probably drop another penny or so this week, but Montana’s price probably won’t drop as much as the national average.”

Montana is now just four cents away from catching up to the National average of $3.65 gallon.
