BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — Montana State University police are investigating a rape reported in one of the dorm rooms.

MSU sent an email to students, faculty and staff on Tuesday night notifying them of an alleged Oct. 28 rape.

The notice says university police were called to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital Monday night, where a woman said she had been spending time in the room of a man she knew when he sexually assaulted her early Saturday.

MSU was required to send the alert under federal law.

MSU also alerted students in September to rapes reported at separate fraternities early on Sept. 15.
