BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — The Montana State men's basketball program says center Mohammed Fall lost a season of NCAA Division I eligibility for competing in two showcase basketball games four years ago and won't be eligible for his senior season with the Bobcats.

Fall completed his junior season in March after playing two years at Cloud County Community College in Kansas.

MSU coach Brad Huse says Fall didn't know he was doing anything against the rules when he played in the showcase games after turning 21, but before he enrolled as a full-time college student. Huse says MSU was unsuccessful in its appeal of the ruling.

Fall, who is from Senegal, averaged 7.2 points and 5.4 rebounds this season.

Huse says Fall has options to play at a lower division, but MSU will honor his scholarship if he decides to remain a student at Montana State.
